Do this on your Android phone if you can. The Google account you use below has to be the same one signed into the Play Store on the device you want the app on — doing it on a laptop signed into a different account is the one mistake that trips almost everyone up.
How to join

Join the tester group
Google Play only shows a closed beta to accounts on an approved list, and this group is that list. Tap through and choose Join group.
Sign in as the account that joined the group, then tap Become a tester. If it says you're not eligible, give step 1 a few minutes to propagate and reload.

Install from Google Play
Once you're opted in, Aucword installs like any other app — and updates arrive automatically for as long as you're in the test.
Newly opted-in accounts sometimes wait a few hours before the listing appears. If Play says the app isn't available yet, it usually is by the next time you look.

It's a beta, so expect the occasional rough edge. Aucword still never places a bid and never sees your eBay password.

Staying opted in for the duration of the test is what gets Aucword to a public Android release — Google requires a sustained group of active testers before the app can graduate to the open Play Store. If you join, please keep it installed.
Troubleshooting
Why do I have to join a Google Group first?
Google Play's closed testing track only shows the app to accounts on an approved tester list, and a Google Group is how Play manages that list. Joining the group is what puts your Google account on it. We don't post to the group and it isn't a mailing list — it exists purely as the permission check.
Play says the app isn't available for my account
Check which Google account is signed into the Play Store on your phone — tap your avatar, top right. It has to match the account that joined the group.
If you have several Google accounts, join the group again with the one that's actually on the phone.
Give it time. Opt-ins can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to reach the Play Store.

Is the beta free?
Yes. Free, no subscription, same as on iOS. You'll need an eBay account, connected through eBay's own sign-in.
Will my account work on both iOS and Android?
Yes. Sign in with the same Aucword account and your eBay connection, watchlist, and price targets follow you across both.
How do I leave the beta?
Open the web opt-in page again and choose "Leave the program", then uninstall the app. You can leave the Google Group whenever you like too. If you'd also like your Aucword account deleted, the account deletion page covers that.
When does Android get a public release?
As soon as the closed test clears Google's requirements and the build is stable. Follow
