Most problems are one of the five below — watchlist sync, auction alerts, widget refresh, the eBay connection, or signing in. If none of them match, email hi@aucword.com and a real person will read it. Include your device, iOS version, and what you expected to happen; it gets us to an answer much faster.
Common fixes — watchlist, alerts, and widgets
My watchlist is empty, or items are missing
- Open the app and give it a moment — Aucword syncs your watchlist from eBay each time you come back to it.
- Auctions that have already ended drop off the watchlist. That's eBay's behaviour, not a sync failure.
- If it's still empty, open Settings and check the eBay connection status. Reconnecting re-authorises Aucword to read your watchlist.
I'm not getting notifications
- Check that notifications are allowed: iOS Settings → Aucword → Notifications.
- Alerts are per item. Tap the bell on an auction and confirm an alert is actually set and saved.
- Check whether a Focus mode or Do Not Disturb schedule is suppressing delivery.
- Still nothing? Email us with the item and the alert you set and we'll look at the delivery logs for your account.
The widget is showing old information
- iOS decides how often widgets are allowed to refresh, so a widget can lag behind the app by a few minutes.
- Opening Aucword refreshes the data the widget reads from.
- If it's stuck for much longer than that, remove the widget and add it again.
It says my eBay account isn't connected
- eBay authorisations expire, and they can also be revoked from your eBay account settings.
- Open Settings in Aucword and reconnect. You'll be taken to eBay's own sign-in page — Aucword never sees your eBay password.
I can't sign in to Aucword
- Use "Forgot password" on the sign-in screen to get a reset link by email.
- Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive within a few minutes.
- Note there are two separate logins: your Aucword account, and your eBay account that Aucword connects to.
